The world-famous Cango Caves are within proximity and the delightful, historic town of Prince Albert can be accessed over the Swartberg Pass or through Meiringspoort.  The property boasts 300-year-old Aloe plants.

Cango Ostrich Farm

Cango Ostrich farm is situated in the Cango Valley of Schoemanshoek. The farm is privately owned and managed. Exciting guided tours daily where you can experience the eggs, incubators and chicks in season. Feed the ostriches by hand, and learn all about the history, farming practices and industry of these magnificent birds. The farm has a curio shop, restaurant and wine house.

Swartberg Pass

The Swartberg Pass is a stunning scenic drive that runs over the Swartberg mountain range which is between Oudtshoorn in the south and Prince Albert in the north. It is one of the highlights of the Swartberg Circle Route. The pass is an unpaved gravel road built between 1883 and 1888 by Thomas Bain. This is the only road access to Gamkaskloof.

Cango Caves

The 20 million year old Cango Caves is a cultural and natural landmark in South Africa. . It is situated in the Swartberg Mountains, 30 km north of Oudtshoorn, in South Africa’s Western Cape Province. Described as one of the great Natural Wonders of The World. Inhabited since the Early Stone Age. It is South Africa’s oldest tourist attraction.

Prince Albert

Said to be the "Jewel of the Karoo," the delightful and Historical town in Great Karoo. The beautiful town has a small local population and said to be the friendliest people in the Karoo. Some of the buildings date back more than 200 years. Seasonal citrus fruit, apricots, figs and other fresh produce is for sale at their Saturday markets. Prince Albert is part of the mohair producing region in South Africa, and home to champion breeders of Angora goats. You may visit the weavers or the mohair shops
